Day Off Wedding Errands
And just like that the long weekend is over boo hoo! It was really nice weather here on Saturday and Sunday- almost 70 degrees. We crossed a lot more wedding tasks off our to-do list…and quite frankly, I am totally over them. This Saturday is full of them again, but after that we’re pretty much done for a while. I’d rather focus on something else for a little!
We did, however, get our first wedding/engagement gift off our registry

It was just from my mom, but hey, it counts.
On Saturday, we took engagement photos for FIVE HOURS. I have a new respect for models…photo taking is exhausting. I did splurge though and got my hair done at Dry Bar (thedrybar.com), which is such a nice 45 minutes of pampering. I even got to watch the Sex and the City movie…girl heaven in there

My hair came out nice…or just much better than I would do on my own and the MAC store across the street did my eye makeup. Makes a diff for photos to get some extra help since I’m “challenged” and impatient in those areas.
The photo shoot was long, but I think we got a few nice shots. Will share them soon!!
Okay, fast forward to Monday Presidents Day. Here’s what I did…
Slept in…Charlie too

Avocado, eggs, dandy blend…and a banana that I ate right when I woke up
Quick dog walk
Hanging out in the car drinking a half caf Sbucks while Jared did a work errand (and I made sure we didn’t get a ticket….never sure if the zones are the same on this holiday or if the meter maids are going to come..)

Quick lunch from home….lentils, lettuce, etc

TWO and a half hours at the tux store (waayyyyy too long) helping my handsome fiancé pick out a tux for the wedding. I’m not really sure why it took so long, but it did. But he’ll look good so I suppose it’s all worth it

Guy have it so much easier than girls when it comes down to fit.

And since the tux fitting took so long, we had to zoom across town for a more fun wedding errand- the cake tasting! Good timing because I was hungry.

It wasn’t quite as involved of a tasting as some places and we just tried a few options to make our decision. We decided on a mix of vanilla and chocolate cake with caramel and Bavarian cream fillings…I *think* the combo will be good…will just to wait and see!
The rest of the afternoon (it was 4ish by the time we got back) was spent on a dog walk, entertaining Charlie, and sitting on the couch vegging watching tv. I ate leftover chicken with pesto, potatoes, and kale for dinner…was way too lazy to cook

And managed to go to the gym for weights and a quick workout. It was freezing everywhere so I stayed in my huge cozy sweatshirt

And then ate three rice crackers with strawberry jam….the end!
I probably always say this but I’m sad the weekend is over. I could still use one cozy day in bed reading..but oh well, Friday’s only 4 days away.
-How did you spend your day off?
-Dream cake flavors? Mine prob involves lemon and chocolate
- Do you have a big cozy oversized sweatshirt?
- Do your salons play movies?
- And Sex in the City movie or Clueless? they played both while I was at the salon..I pick SITC

February 18, 2013 at 11:39 pm (91 days ago)SATC is great, but Clueless is one of my favourite films! It’s my guilty pleasure and I can pretty much recite the dialogue.
I can see how doing wedding stuff all the time takes it’s toll. The big day will come around before you know it, though! Make the most of the build up
You’re so lucky to get two public holidays so soon after Christmas – we have to wait until Easter! I totally have a huge sweatshirt that I really should never leave the house in, but sometimes I’m just too cosy to take it off… I’ve worn it to the theatre twice lately, with leggings, knee high socks and Uggs. The shame! Hey, it’s been a long winter…!

February 19, 2013 at 4:55 am (91 days ago)Your weekend was definitely more adventurous than mine. Mine was spent cleaning and doing laundry with grocery shopping trip thrown into the mix. I know you’re jealous.

February 19, 2013 at 6:50 am (91 days ago)Holy cow–you did a TON of wedding errands! Good for you. The engagement photo shoot sounds fun, and of course, cake taste-testing isn’t something to complain about. The pieces you samples look delicious.

February 19, 2013 at 6:52 am (91 days ago)I had to work yesterday, boooo! I dream of a three day weekend, nothing until Memorial Day. How pathetic is that?

February 19, 2013 at 6:59 am (91 days ago)I definitely pick the Sex in th City movie. Cake tasting is a super fun wedding activity! I think I might have to try to do that one two or three times

February 19, 2013 at 7:25 am (91 days ago)I choose Clueless! But SATC is great too
we went on our first venue visit yesterday and I’m already overwhelmed! Wedding planning is way less fun than I thought it would be :/
Rebecca
February 19, 2013 at 10:56 am (91 days ago)i agree…it’s much less fun, especially when real money is involved and not just “dream fantasy” wedding planning. Ugh. But good luck finding a venue!! It all works out in the end…the searching process can be a pain though

February 19, 2013 at 8:49 am (91 days ago)Must be good to check all those tasks off of your “to-do” list. Cake tasting was a huge highlight of wedding planning for me. We chose red velvet with raspberry & buttercream filling. It was heavenly.
Rebecca
February 19, 2013 at 10:55 am (91 days ago)wow, your cake sounds fabulous! our baker didn’t even offer red velvet
Cinnamon
February 19, 2013 at 9:19 am (91 days ago)yep, lemon and chocolate those are my absolute favorite cake flavors. Red velvet is a close third.
We had cupcakes at our wedding so we could have all the flavors! haha
Rebecca
February 19, 2013 at 10:55 am (91 days ago)cupcakes are such a fun way to get all kinds of cake flavors…yum!
Richard

February 19, 2013 at 12:15 pm (91 days ago)Yeah that’s a pretty involved day right there. Thank gosh, you got to sleep in at least. The wedding stuff can be so exhausting and so much, but it’ll all be worth it. Just try to take your time on the big day because it goes by so darn quickly. Can’t wait to see the photos.
Haley @ The Saucy Apple
February 19, 2013 at 6:14 pm (91 days ago)Okay, so I know it’s easy to get caught up in all the million things you have to do before your wedding, but one piece of advice I would give (if you asked… hehe) is to enjoy every single second of it. Being engaged and having portraits done and getting your hair and make up done are just about the most fun things ever.
I’m so excited for you!

February 19, 2013 at 6:48 pm (91 days ago)Just remind yourself that all this wedding craziness will be worth it come your big day <3 I can't wait to see your photos. I already know they turned out beautiful.

February 19, 2013 at 7:44 pm (91 days ago)Wow, I am impressed with everything you achieved this past weekend! I tend to steal my dad and brother’s big cozy over-sized sweatshirts ( well on me) around the house!
My salon does not play movies! Dry Bar sounds like one snazzy salon! Although, when I go to the dentist, I can watch tv on the flat screen while I get my teeth cleaned, which is a-okay in my book.
Sex in the City movie!
Rebecca
February 22, 2013 at 12:33 pm (88 days ago)ooh i wish my dentist did that!!

February 20, 2013 at 5:26 pm (90 days ago)i think it was New Year’s Day that the SITC movie was on and I just had to watch!
