MLK wknd in Tahoe!
Ahhh, don’t you just live three-day weekends? On Saturday, Jared, Charlie, our friend Keren and I packed up the car and headed up to Tahoe for a long weekend in the snow!

The drive took a while, but we finally got to the cabin around 2pm.

Jared gets a ski house share every year with 10 or so friends…so basically the cabin is ours January through April. It is so much fun! Because it’s a share, you never know who is going to be in the cabin (well they usually email each other, but…), but it’s usually 5-10 and always so cozy to hang out.
This was a different house than last year, but they did a great job choosing! It is huge! Plus, there’s a hot tub outside surrounded by pretty trees AND a ping ping and pool table. Score!!
Inside, it’s very cozy and cabin-y

There were about 8 people up this weekend so we just spent the rest of Saturday hanging out with everyone, taking a long walk through the neighborhood, hot tubbing, and making dinner. It’s almost 40 degrees during the day so really nice.
Sunday morning, we woke up early. Someone had already made coffee (yeah!)

Made breakfast…simple, but good.

And then we watched the inauguration while I did wedding stuff

Until we got a group together for a hike! Everyone usually spends the day skiing, but holiday weekends are blackout weekends for people with season passers, Jared still can’t ski because of his shoulder, and most importantly…we ALL wanted to be home by noon for the 49er game!
We went to Donner Memorial State Park (remember the story of the Donner Party?)

It was beautiful and Charlie was in heaven! He looooves the snow

We got home around 12:30. Perfect time for the game! I was soo hungry for lunch…put together a random assortment that was really good

We spent the afternoon watching football (8 of us), chillaxing, and playing ball with Charlie. He enjoyed all the attention and took full advantage of it!

After the intense game- I was freaking out during the last 10 minutes…holy cow, I still can’t believe they won!!! The giants won the World Series and now the 49ers are going to the Superbowl?!?! Best year ever for SF!!– Jared and I went to the gym at the complex (for all the houses in this development). It’s really nice. There’s a pool, hot tub, and nice workout space. We just worked out for an hour.
My favorite part about it is that you stare out to the snowy mountains while on the treadmill. Def can’t do that at home!

The evening consisted of dinner, more hanging out, more hot tub, more dog walks, and a rousing game of ping ping. The only thing I took photos of was dinner…

But I bet you can use your imagination for the rest. I went to sleep early- 9:45…I think the cold air and altitude makes me extra sleepy.
Now it’s Monday morning…we’ve been lazy just drinking coffee, watching the inauguration, doing casual yoga…and figuring out what to do for the next few hours before we head home….

How about you?
-Ski, snowboard, or cross country?
-Ping ping or pool?
-Who are you rooting for in the Super Bowl?(don’t worry, I’ll still like you if you say the Ravens)
-What’d you do this weekend?

January 21, 2013 at 11:01 am (121 days ago)What an amazing weekend. The cabin and surrounding area looks beautiful. I’m a ping pong girl all he way, and I don’t really care who wins the Super Bowl (sorry), although we have a party for it every year.

January 21, 2013 at 11:56 am (121 days ago)Wow! What a lovely way to spend a weekend! It looks so cosy and fun. I lived in a French ski resort for a few months when I was 19 and tried snowboarding, but found it scary! I’d like to try it again now. Lots of snow here, too, but sadly no slopes or cabins with hot tubs!

January 21, 2013 at 12:01 pm (121 days ago)Most likely rooting for the NIners
My sig other did go out there last year for the Giants/San Fran playoff game and said the fans were insanely mean and threatening (and for a guy to say that it must have been bad), so I’m torn on that but have no issue with the team itself.
Did you know Vernon Davis loves to paint and do interior decorating?
