WIAW….typical eats
Warning: This isn’t the most exciting day of eats. In fact, it’s pretty typical…which makes it downright boring. But I’m still am happy with boring sometimes anyways!
Tuesday’s Eats………
I slept late today (aka until 6:45am). Usually I’m up by 6 and out the door by 7am (latest), but today I had to work late so I spent a little more leisurely time in the morning. I ate breakfast around 7:30am and didn’t leave the house until 8:15am. Green smoothies are back! I had a smoothie and a cup (or two…) of coffee with almond milk.
I ate my snack pretty much as soon as I got to the office….about 9:30am. Coconut yogurt and 2 mandarin organges.
Lunch was yummy. Leftover salmon over greens plus a sweet potato on the side.
When snacktime rolled around, I ate a chcolate brownie pure bar and later an unpictured banana….and orange (hey, I was hungry!)
Dinner was fajitas- steak, bell peppers, and corn.

Where’s the tortilla? Oh yeah, I ate it (with butter on top!) while I was waiting for everything else to cook, hence the no pics.
After I finish writing this, I’m going to attempt to do a few miles on the treadmill….but we’ll see if it happens…I’ve been super tired the past few days. Oh yeah and our gym FLOODED over the weekend! Thankfully, they finally reopened today, geez
And in other news: OMG sooo excited for the Giants and the start of the World Series! SF is going crazy right now. Watch out Tigers….
Soooo…..
– Have you eaten any of these same foods the past few days?
– Do you keep an emergency snack at your desk or car? I was hungry today and had to go out to get food….no emergency stash…I think it might be a good idea….but I also think that just knowing it was there would make me eat it within a day of putting it there, so probably isn’t worth it (for me, that is).
– Chicken, veggie, or steak fajitas? Or dislike fajitas?
– Do you still drink smoothies even when it’s cold outside? I do…..and I still eat ice cream too….
– Are you going to watch the World Series or do you not care?

October 23, 2012 at 9:17 pm (207 days ago)Hunger definitely hits me the hardest in the afternoon as well, which is why I always make sure to have some extra snacks with me. I tend to get super cranky when I’m hungry, and if I let my blood sugar drop too low then I get all sorts of dizzy and crazy so yeah… food is always around just in case

Smoothies all year round. I’m that girl who is bundled up on the couch with blankets, heat on, drinking a smoothie & wondering why I’m still cold

In my purse, I always carry a baggie of almonds and pistachios along with a small tin of dark chocolate. It’s come in handy MANY times!

I tried the Pure bars when I found them at Whole Foods in DC-yum! Can’t find them in WI.
I always pack and keep snacks handy!

I used to keep an emergency stash of welch’s fruit snacks at my desk (I’m 5 years-old) but I ran out awhile ago and never replaced them. Now I have to run to the store if hunger strikes unexpectedly. I actually have smoothies more often when it’s cold out. In the summer, it’s nice to drink something cool, but I’d work up a sweat washing the blender in hot water after! Not worth it lol.

October 24, 2012 at 6:01 am (207 days ago)I’ve been loving mashed sweet potatoes as of late with a little butter and cinnamon in them. Definitely chicken fajitas but I prefer chimichangas or enchiladas, hehe.
I usually keep a Clif bar and/or Kashi granola bar in my purse/car/desk just in case…especially since I am on the road a lot for work. I hope your Giants win! Have a great dat.

As for the emergency food stash…..I can’t make it through a day without it!

Sounds crazy I know, but I craveedd them when it was cold out!! I love the look of all your food, and that pure bar is one of my all time favorites!! Veggie fajitas for me!

October 24, 2012 at 12:17 pm (207 days ago)Welll….to be honest, I didn’t like it the first time I tried it, but now that I’ve had it a few more times, I like it. The texture is a little different than regular yogurt, so I think I just needed to get used to it.

It means less time spent thinking up recipes, shopping at the grocery store (bc I know where everything is), and figuring out how to prepare stuff. I always pack a bunch of snacks to take to work too, bc there’s no worse feeling than it being 4 p.m. and your stomach starts grumbling, and dinner seems so far away!

I generally eat the same things for dinner since I know what works well for my runs, but typically breakfast and lunch are up in the air

I eat salmon and sweet potatoes just about every day. Along with chicken and swordfish. I just try to prepare them differently to shake things up.

* I eat salmon EVERY single day!! It’s seriously my favorite food on the face of the planet!!
* My only real emergency “snack” when in the car is… Orbit gum or Wrigley’s Mint Chocolate Chip Dessert Gum! – DELICIOUS!
* Love me some chicken or fish fajitas minus the sour cream, tortillas, beans & guac! I just love a stir-fry of onions, peppers and fish/chicken!
* I totally drink cold stuff even when it’s cold outside, right afterwards I just drink HOT tea! LOL
* And wait, when’s the world series? LOL! CLEARLY I don’t care! AHHH HA HA HA HA!
