Vacation Eats: WIAW #39
I ate really good time in Boston this weekend. Healthy? Not so much, but tasty? Oh YEAH.
For WIAW this week, these are my eats from Sunday. And if you want to find other good eats, visit Jen’s blog today!
8am. Wake up. Hungry and eat a pure bar. Didn’t photograph it, but here’s a pic from another post
8: 30am: Stop for coffee (regular with soy) to sip on our 3 mile walk around the harbor in Boston- beautiful. Weird fact– the tall Sbucks coffees in Boston are 25cents more expensive than SF! crazy, right?
12noon: Pancake feast! We bought an apple-cinammon pancake mix at the farm on Saturday and made pancakes…with real New Hampshire maple syrup. Such a treat.
5pm: Early dinner (or really late lunch?) We went to Ponza, a really yummy Italian restaurant in the North End. I ordered chicken marsala. Yum.
7pm: Pouring rain outside. A cup of hot tea. Ate one of our freshly picked apples while we were making the apple pie. Yep, still taste 100x better than store bought.
8:30pm: A slice of our oh my goodness apple pie straight out of the oven. DELICIOUS. Here’s the recipe. Seriously, make this. I’m not joking.
And after that, I was full of sugar and carbs and all yummy stuff. Clearly I need veggies this week.
Ok, your turn!
–What’d you eat today?
–How much does a tall Starbucks coffee cost near you? (or nonstarbucks coffee)
–Do you get jet lagged easily? I wasn’t this time, surprised myself.
Do you eat an apple a day? I used to, but don’t eat as many these days

I don’t have the slightest idea how much a tall starbucks coffee around here costs.

October 10, 2012 at 3:17 am (226 days ago)Weird! I thought they had standard prices lol. It’s 2-something for a tall but I usually order a double tall skinny vanilla latte which is 3.79 if they’re nice and don’t charge me for the extra shot or 4.38 if they do lol! I don’t pay too much attention to the food when I’m away and just like to enjoy myself like you did…it’s nice to splurge now and then!

That apple pie looks awesome. Apple pie is one of my favorite holiday desserts. I’m going to need to pull out my grandmother’s recipe and rework a few things. But no matter what I am going to get a slice of apple pie! Haha.

October 10, 2012 at 8:13 am (226 days ago)Apples direct from the farm are always the best. I love the flowers with your pancakes, and the photo of the city in the background and your coffee in the foreground was money. All in all, sounds like a delicious weekend.

For some reason I couldn’t see any pictures from the last few posts but my internet has been crap so I’m sure its me. Anyway, just wanted to say I’ve missed you and am looking forward to read and comment on a more regular basis.

October 11, 2012 at 10:32 am (224 days ago)I usually eat an apple with my lunch (at least during the week), so I guess I’m sort of an apple a day. However, I’d much rather eat them in pie form — the picture looks so delicious. I want a piece right now!
