Apple-picking Saturday

Im still in Boston, but couldn’t help doing a short recap. I’ve taken a kajillian photos, but only a few on my phone and those are the ones I’ll post today.

I survived the red-eye Friday night. I slept. It was fine.

First stop in Boston? DD, of course. I was a zombie until I finished my iced coffee.

Next stop? New Hampshire! My friend Amanda, her boyfriend, and I drove up to a really cute farm in Concord, NH. We were caffinated on the way up and extra chatty the whole way. The highway trees were beautiful and it was fun to get out of the city.

I have some better pictures of the apple farm on my other camera, but it was absolutely picture perfect.

The three of us picked apples to our hearts content, eating them along the way. I ate at least two apples…and they taste 250000 times better straight off the tree than at the grocery store. We ended up with a big bag

We also came home with the farm’s “famous” strawberry rhubarb pie (couldn’t resist) and after we got back to Boston, we sat in the apartment’s roof deck for some pie. Pie isn’t usually my favorite dessert, but this was incredibly delicious!

Spoiler alert- we made an amazing apple pie on Sunday with the apples. It was a pie weekend.

But after the rhubarb, I stopped taking pics on Saturday so nothing more to show. We had a fun late afternoon and evening in Boston and I was still recovering from the red eye so only made it until about 10pm. We spent Sunday and Monday wandering around Boston (love this city)…speaking of, need to stop writing so we can leave.

But now I can finally check apple picking and foliage off my bucket list! I want to go back another time and see more, of course, but this was still so worth it.

-What’s your favorite kind of pie? Do you like pie?

Chunky gooey apples pies are my favorite. Sweet potato pies are a close second. :)

Growing up, I loved my Mom’s pumpkin pie. But nowadays, apple pies are my favorite. But no matter what, I’ve never like the crust. It’s the filling that I want!

I just love Boston. Apple picking is so perfectly New England. And rhubarb pie is a surprising fave of mine, because I don’t really like pie either. But my aunt makes it so well, I can never resist ;)

How fun! I want to go apple picking! Most of the time I try to downplay the fact that I’m a Southerner, but when it comes to pie there’s no denying it-it’s pecan all the way!
