Forgetful: WIAW # 38
Hey! Today, I managed to remember my lunch, but I did forget a ton of other things on my way out the door, including my work “snacks” (and no, i can’t get through the day without them!). I blame it on lack of coffee, but more on that later.
Happy WIAW! Click over to Jenn’s blog to see all the fun wednesday eats. I like the theme this month, though I don’t have any healthy treats to share this week.
Who else is having a hard time waking up now that it’s dark so late? How do you motivate? I didn’t get up until 6:15 and need to be out of the house by 7 (and it’s still pretty dark at 7!).
Breakfast was a smoothie and a cup of Dandy Blend! They were nice enough to send me a few samples. It’s really good! I’ve been off coffee the past week and I was really excited to try Dandy Blend. Tastes similar to regular instant coffee and great with a dash of almond milk.
But….after almost a week without coffee (we ran out and I never bought more and thought I would ween myself off), I was struggling all morning, getting cranky, and just needed something. Sooooooo, I walked over to Starbucks for a half caf/half decaf tall cup. It was really good and I felt better afterwards, can’t lie.
Since I forgot my snacks, I bought some walnuts too. Yum.

Lunch was eaten at my desk. A salad with chicken and avocado (forgot the dressing this morning, so it was dry) and a bag of carrots.

We’re having a heat wave over here, so I used it as an excuse for an afternoon a walk to the homemade ice cream store. Vegan chocolate chip ice cream. YUM!
I ate an early dinner after work- chicken, leftover roasted veggies and sweet potato. I drizzled coconut oil over everything, but get this- it was sooo hot in my apt, that my coconut oil was liquified!
After dinner, I met my sister for a walk. We ended up walking 5 miles.
We stumbled on the America’s Cup Festival and wandered around it for a little bit
And then walked along the water. It was such a beautiful night
Love sunsets! Nights like this make me happy to live in SF.
I drank a big glass of almond milk and ate a banana when I got home.
-Are you good at getting up when it’s still dark out?
–Do your siblings live close by?
–Tips for giving up coffee?
–Are you often forgetful?

October 3, 2012 at 5:14 am (228 days ago)Do you have any more pictures from that Cup Festival? Sounds interesting!
Rebecca
October 3, 2012 at 1:28 pm (227 days ago)I have a couple, but the real festival doesn’t start until later in the week so last night was relativley quiet. The booths were set up and open, but they were still getting organized and just doing registration (not sure what for) and vip stuff. It looks like it’s going to be great though! Fun to have America’s Cup in SF. I’m out of town this weekend and am sad to miss it, but they’ll be back again in April

October 3, 2012 at 8:21 am (228 days ago)Oh man. I miss icecream. Can’t have dairy or soy (I’m assuming vegan icecream is made from soy?) Ah well. Need to look into coconut ice cream at some point.
Rebecca
October 3, 2012 at 1:30 pm (227 days ago)I’ve had coconut ice cream and it was actually surprisingly really good. I would miss ice cream so much if I was allergic!!

October 3, 2012 at 6:02 pm (227 days ago)The best part of Indian summers is another chance to eat ice cream! Yours looks delicious.
I hate waking up in the dark; it’s so hard. And I keep forgetting things too, but since the sun isn’t as intense, I think it’s a sign I need to start taking vitamin D again.

October 3, 2012 at 7:58 pm (227 days ago)Beautiful shot of the water/bridge at sunset – makes me long for a trip to the water! I am right there with you when it comes to getting out of bed when it’s still dark out. Fall/winter are the perfect times of the year for snuggling up in bed for hours and hours. I’ve found drinking tea is a good substitute for coffee and there are plenty versions without caffeine if that is what you are looking to avoid.

October 4, 2012 at 1:27 pm (226 days ago)I love green tea and have been drinking much more of it the past week!
