It’s my Birthday! Well Tuesday was, but since I’m writing this on Tues and you’re prob reading it on Wed, oh well! I felt lucky and loved all day long. A pretty good day. For WIAW, thought I’d share my bday bites!
Welll….. Monday night I celebrated with my parents, sis, and Jared. We went to a trendy bowling alley, drank cocktails, bowled our hearts out, ate dinner, and the best part, they brought me the best, gooeyist chocolate cake. It was amazing
I woke up EARLY on my bday morning…like 2am because there was a fire alarm. So loud. I used it as an excuse to make Jared let me open one of my bday presents. It’s fun to open presents at 2am. He got me a cute GW mug.
When I woke up the second time, around 7:30, I was still stuffed from my massive piece of cake. I went down to the pool and the birthday gods were loving me because I got a lane to myself the entire time! I swam a mile. I have a tradition on my bday to swim the number of laps (double laps so back and forth equal one) that I am turning. This year I went farther so I could do a whole mile. It felt great! I’ve def gotten faster now that I’m swimming more often.
I came upstairs around 8:45 and ate breakfast. A green smoothie– gotta start the year off right! This one was spinach, banana, and pineapple. I also ate a rice cracker with butter and jam while I was waiting for the smoothie to finish blending and I drank a cup of coffee later in the morning.
Next up was a mani/pedi with my best friend in the whole world (and her adorable baby boy). We snacked on blueberries that she brought (yes, she knows me well) while we got pampered.
Shopping, wandering around in the sunshine and I was home by 1 for lunch. It was a random mix- tofu with pesto on the side (good combo!), carrots, and avocado. I tried to keep it light before I knew I was in for a big dinner and more leftover bday cake.
And because I couldn’t resist…..a few bites of bday cake (see above!). Holy delicious
I spent the afternoon in Golden gate park before getting dressed up for dinner. Craziness but no pictures, such a bummer.
Dinner was cozy and dimly lit so no good pics, but it did include a glass of wine
Beef carpaccio and grilled ahi tuna entree.
Plus a pice of this back at home
-What kind of cake do you usually have for your bday? Chocolate too?
–What’d you do on your last birthday?
