Up to Sonoma

It’s another race weekend! This one’s in Sonoma…and I have no complaints about tagging along this time- it’s so nice up here!

After a foggy day in SF, which included a soy misto (my new favorite Starbucks drink)

And a busy work-from-home workday answering a kajillion emails and getting ready for next week….

We braced the traffic up to wine country.

Took us two hours- awful- should have took the day off and left early morning.

I tagged along to the expo

I need this shirt- ha!

It was late by the time he registered and half of our friends were still stuck in traffic, so we canceled the group dinner and just went to the hotel.

Best part of hotels in Sonoma? Free wine happy hours!

I enjoyed a glass while Jared did his pre-race bike ride.

And an added bonus?

Watermelon water! Ah-maz-ing

I lost my key within ten minutes of getting it (what the heck?!) so missed my window in the hot tub, sadly (it was one of those key-access only ones). No worries though, we’re here till Sunday.

Dinner was at none other than AppleBees. It was within walking distance to the hotel. I usually really dislike those sorts of restaurants, but my dinner was actually really, really good (and unlike me, I got a steak). Plus, the waiter was really nice and we watched the Olympics during the meal, so it turned out really fun.

And then more Olympics. I thought I wasn’t going to be able to watch it because of all the travel stuff, but am so glad the timing all worked out! Sleep soon because wake-up call is set for 4am….ah the joys of spectating-ha.

Happy Weekend!

-Favorite part of the opening ceremonies? (I love when the athletes walk around in their country outfits)
-Do you lose your hotel keys as often as me or not at all?
-If you could compete in any Olympic sport (summer or winter), what would it be? -
(no you don’t actually have to do the sport now)
- And, any races this weekend? Earliest time you’ve woken up for a race?

I love Sonoma! I got married there. That sucks that the traffic was so bad but glad you made it up there! I love the Olympics too, even if it does interfere with my reading (usually I’m not really a TV person). Have a great weekend wine tasting (after race spectating, of course!)

    Hope you’re enjoying the weekend!
I would want to swim in the Olympics.
Probably earliest wake-up for a race was 4am for the Chicago Marathon.

I always lose my hotel room key and then find a million of them months later….I would go through at least three room keys per weekend when traveling
