Must be Summer!: WIAW #28

Happy Wednesday! It’s the last Wed in July and I am *finally* getting around to the Fitness part of my WIAW. So, I’ll start with that.

I started the day with a 30 minute run. I didn’t track the distance, but I wasn’t running very fast so guessing it was a little less than 3 miles.

Came home, started the coffee while I showered and then ate breakfast.

Breakfast: Coffee with almond milk, peach soy yogurt, and blueberries. Fresh blueberries taste so much better than frozen ones. I can’t get enough these days.

Lunch: 3 rice crackers slathered very generously with almond butter. And an unsweetened applesauce.

Eaten at my desk, sadly. It looks like a light lunch, but the massive amount of almond butter kept me full all afternoon.

I snacked on some taffy that my parents brought me back from their weekend away. Taffy always makes me think of summer. It’s also one of those things that I never buy on my own, only eat when someone gives it to me.

Dinner: was leftover salmon atop a raw kale, lettuce, and cucumber salad. Plus a peach.

Fresh peach AND blueberries in one day?! Must be summer!!

After dinner, I went for an hour-long walk to the bridge.

Came home and ate dinner#2- a big bowl of steamed kale and frozen peas.

    Kale and spinach are both in my fridge right now! Walk along the beach-I did for an hour lastnight! Swim in the ocean. Peaches and blueberries. And peanut butter has the edge… Yum! Summer has finally arrived in England too. Bare legs to work for the first time this year today!

    oh gosh taffy is so my weakness, I love the chewy texture. Your dinner is so green, but looks amazing! Happy Wednesday.

    Blueberries DO make you smile, huh? ;)
    I used to HATE kale! But now, I eat it almost everyday! Goes to show, give every veggie a chance!! I prefer running. Love them both, but right now I’m infatuated with white flesh peaches!

    All of the above AND the applesauce! I have been packing those in my lunches lately too. Nothing like some fresh bluebies. :) What is the new iPhone app you are using?

    Definitely have a running preference! I’d say blueberries usually but those peaches look immense! I’ve never tried almond butter (I know, I know, poor show). What app are you using for your Iphone out of interest? I only have my phone to take photos and they always look so lame.

    Great fresh eats! Spinach, run, swim, blueberry, both!
    I bought a 10lb box of Michigan blueberries 2 weeks ago–I’ve been making my way through them – they’ve stayed fresh and delicious.

    We’ve been going through lots of blueberries these days – hence the blue stains on my kitchen floor. :) Now I’m craving taffy. I typically only eat it when they are sampling it somewhere, but I wouldn’t turn it away if it was given to me.

    Loving all that fresh produce! Your peach looks ripe and perfect! I bought some yesterday and I cant’ wait for them to be ripe!

    Spinach (although kale is growing on me) Walk, Swim, blueberries and almond butter. LOVE!
    That walk to the bridge must have been awesome! What a beautiful view!

    I love my I-phone camera app too! So much easier than whipping out my camera:) Your meals all look so fresh, clean, and delicious. I’ve been loving the salmon kale combo lately as well as the almond butter rice cake combo! Walking to the bridge looks so relaxing- it’s gorgeous there!

    Love all the fresh fruits and veggies! I love spinach so I’d definitely go with spinach over kale! Those rice cakes with almond butter look delicious too! So simple but so good!

    I really like all of your choices (except the swim/bike, only because I have never tried either as an exercise), but if I had to pick I would go with what I eat more of. Spinach, walk, swim, blueberries, peanut butter.

    hey lady! how appropriate on your obsession with blueberries! i never buy them – but bought some because they were on sale and am so glad i did! they have made a great topping for yogurt, cereal, salads, or even just plain! yummmmm
