5:45am: Early Morning! Breakfast 1
I was up and out of the house super early. Made a huge pot of coffee (which I didn’t really get to enjoy because I was rushing around) and a pineapple Green Smoothie. My favorite way to start the day.
8am: Breakafst 2. After an early meeting, I took advantage of being downtown and stopped in at a bakery.
Got a slice of carrot-lemon bread and a diet snapple. Bread was okay, but I think I’m getting choosey- I like breads I bake better….
A grapefruit later for a snack:
I’m thinking I need some crunchy greens and some protein next.
In other news, I picked up some Maca powder at the Farmer’s Market last weekend. Have you heard of Maca?
Maca’s a South American superfood that has been used as food and medicine for hundreds of years. Inca warriors used to take some before going to battle (cool, huh).
Maca helps regulate hormones through the hypothymus gland and increase energy. They make it in a powdered form that can be added to smoothies. Neat, huh?
I thought I’d give it a try. I always love trying new local products…and I figured giving my hormones some regulation help can never be a bad thing
The Maca is mixed with cacao and stevia so it tastes really good. I mixed some with almond milk the other night- yum!
